Wednesday Blog

In These Times

Earthquakes in Turkey and Syria, war cries from Ukraine, hunger, crime, pestilence and diseases, we wonder where this will all end up for this world. But we press on with faith and hope.

Hope I did see and experience at our recent PTA meeting. Our parents came out, asked their questions and left informed about the path forward. I do like parents who are truly informed. They make the process easier, they guide our students better. We may interact with them in class and private consultations, but they wage the battle on the home front. Thanks for showing up. And asking so many relevant questions.

SAT in May

Start your registration for that exam.

Illinois Tech, Chicago’s only tech university and a nationally ranked research university, offers the unique Elevate College Prep program, which sets young learners on a successful pathway to college and careers in STEM and other dynamic fields.*

Elevate College Prep programs include: · Dual Enrollment Courses: These online or in-person courses, taught by Illinois Tech faculty, allow students to gain both high school and college credit. · Summer Programs: Students broaden their knowledge and skills through an array of academic offerings, hands-on experiences, and mentorship. Opportunities include daytime, residential, and online programs, as well as courses offering college credit. Registration is now open for summer 2023 programs. · DevUp Scholars: This interactive program builds college readiness for students from Chicago’s South Side. Students receive a full scholarship to participate in structured STEM enrichment activities from the summer before their sophomore year through high school graduation. · Apprenticeships: High school students can build skills and independence in areas such as business and cybersecurity through this paid opportunity offered in partnership with After School Matters Chicago.
