Town Hall, War and Education

Students are doing classes, getting ready for life ahead, under the umbrella of a looming war and an ever present coronavirus pandemic. These are serious times.

Despite this dark cloud, life goes on. Students are receiving letters of acceptance, scholarships, visa preparation, thoughts of being overseas underneath the threat…

What next? We are going to stage a Town Hall soon to address the way forward. We work relentlessly as we had done 2 years ago when we heard Corona had landed. I remember the fear everyone had about flying, contracting the virus. But fears were allayed when we watched students pluck up their courage and press on.

They taught me to press on. There were so many parents biting their nails, but students persevered. So here we go again. Stay abreast of the news. Read articles on fair.org.

Stay strong.

Dear Andrew,

At Salve Regina University, we believe your students deserve mentorship and advice as if they are already a part of our community. As you prepare your students for the college search and application process throughout the year, we want to help by sharing comprehensive tips from our team of admission experts with a series of virtual workshops this spring. From the college essay to navigating applications as a first-generation college student and more, these virtual workshops connect students with one hour of professional advice, including the opportunity to ask questions directly to the admission professional presenting. Attached is a PDF with a list of registration links to share directly with your students. If you would like to join as a counselor, please register via the links below and a confirmation email will be sent with information on how to join. All events will be hosted virtually in eastern time. Additionally, our admissions team is available to present directly to your students in a classroom setting; respond to this email with a request and we will connect you with the counselor who works with your school.
