It feels like Spring, but time says Summer. Oh, climate change! We would like to say Covid change....but, with the pandemic unfurling its worst disasters in India, Brazil and elsewhere....well....we continue to struggle.
So homage to all those who were successful and continue to be successful. Kudos to you. I did not have a chance to thank the Ardenne Team for inviting me to their College Zoom Fair online, a splendid event. Those students are tenacious. With a lot of universities bailing on them, what did they do? They still held their fair, using past students who were enrolled at Dartmouth, University of Miami, York and several others to showcase their ideas about applying, college life et al. Good job.
This week, we had Wolmer's Boys' School, third formers. Attentive they were. Listened they did. Along with NSU explaining the majors they had, we had an enjoyable Career's Day. To my surprise, I heard that Marlon James, the noted New York Times bestselling author, was a Wolmerian. So for the young man who said during the Zoom session that he loved writing stories....the link to Marlon James was revelatory. Another Wolmerian beckoning to create another great one! Age Quod Agis! I guess that shows my Wolmerian roots.....
Summer school is calling for all those who opted to be a part of that earlier this year. Get your action plans in order...visas, packing, traveling, mask and sanitizer in tow...
What am I sad about? That we are not able to have our usual Send Off Gala. At UWI, in May, we had a party with cautionary tales covering many things you needed for overseas life. With Covid that is a terrible no....So we created a list of items you will need for your dorm rooms. Stop by and pick up. Along with other great tips we can impart to you.
This Friday we bid Mrs. Buchanan farewell. She was a true champion in our office, we wish her well.

My name is Ben Frigon, and I’m a Program Manager at Inspirit, an enrichment program for middle and high school students developed and taught by a team of Stanford and MIT graduates. We have launched a “Bridging Humanities and Artificial Intelligence” summer track for high school and middle school students with a passion for applying technology for social good! We would love to invite your students of all backgrounds to apply by April 30th!
Our belief is that artificial intelligence is poised to transform almost every discipline. Our project-based curriculum caters to students with non-technical backgrounds and interests in the arts and humanities, allowing them to explore the intersection of AI and law, education, art, music, and more. Students in the past have built models that aided criminal justice, analyzed political debates, and even diagnosed illnesses that would be missed by the human eye!

YOU'RE INVITED: Stevens Innovation Expo High School Experience

Stevens Institute of Technology will host the annual Innovation Expo virtually this year on Friday, April 30. The Innovation Expo – a showcase for student research, innovation and entrepreneurship – can be experienced on the web via our virtual platform or through the Stevens Innovation Expo mobile app. Information on accessing these platforms is available on our Innovation Expo App and Virtual Platform webpage.
Middle and high school students are welcome to join any portion of the program, but we encourage them to view the Middle and High School Student Experience lectures from 2:45-3:45 p.m. There will be four lectures, each lasting 30 minutes, during this period. The full day’s agenda is included below. Please share this with students that you think may be interested in attending!
Students in grades 8 through 12 will get a glimpse of Stevens’ cutting-edge academic programs and research and insights into topics such as music-making techniques, systems engineering in space, becoming an entrepreneur and the history and future of concrete.
