The boarders have arrived. I have seen many of my past students coming in for crasher's courses for ACT and SAT testing in March. Kudos and hello to Maia(Bement), Christine(The Hockaday School), Joshua(St. Andrew's-Sewanee), Justin(St. Andrew's), Brittany(Pomfret), Emily (Rabun-Gap Nacoochee)....all seem to be returning on 3/22/2015....back to the cold...grr! All seem to be faring well and have superb grades.....as I demanded...smile. CONDOLENCES Dominic Shoucair's father passed away while I was in North Carolina attending one of my student's wedding. In fact, I had to forego his sister's wedding to attend the other as the dates were both for Feb. 27th, 2015. Can anyone ever imagine that her father would be buried the day before her wedding? And that it is her brother, my dear Dominic, who had to walk her down the aisle? You go DOMINIC.....much love and happy for your courage. So you are forgiven for barging into my office, sitting in my lap like a big baby and commiserating on your plight. I am terribly impressed by your 3.8 GPA at George Washington University. Amazing job! PARENTS' MEETING So Sunday past, we had our meetings for the SSAT, SAT, GRE, GMAT groups. These meetings were comfortable, cozy and simply needed an afghan, hot chocolate and a crackling fire. Christine LeeFatt's chronicles of life in boarding school helped to alleviate many of the parents and students present...and Mrs. Denise Forbes did a magnificent job of pointing out all the details, incidentals and issues for parents who are just about to send off a child to boarding school. Sparkles did the event proud with the big screen projections, whilst the SAT meetings received accolades for all the points covered by the slides. Nice. Good. We love informed parents.
