Dear Sandra,

Greetings from Barnard! I hope you had a restful summer and fantastic start to your school year. We are back in full swing at Barnard and our admissions officers are back on the road!

Barnard had another banner year with an application increase of 16%. For more stats on the Class of 2026, please view our Class Profile.

Here are some quick updates to assist you in guiding your students this year.

  • First-Year Interviews - We will not offer optional evaluative interviews for first-year applicants this year. As always, we will review all applicants holistically. We encourage your students to engage with our current students via our Intro to Student Life @Barnard virtual chats and our alumnae through additional programming.

  • Temporary Test-Optional Policy - Barnard will remain test-optional for Fall 2023 and Fall 2024. Last year, approximately 50% of our applicant pool applied test optional and 50% of our incoming class did not submit scores. For more guidance around our policy, please visit our FAQ.

  • Barnard Bound - Our Barnard Bound program will remain virtual for this year. Barnard Bound is open to all students of color and will be held on October 7-8. Registration is limited and will open this weekend! Please direct your students to our website for more information.

  • Bridgewater Scholars - We are excited to partner with Bridgewater Associates, the world's largest hedge fund, to provide a four-year mentoring program for select number of students interested in finance and investment careers. Students can indicate their interest on the Common App. For more information, please see our website.

  • New English Department Chair - Barnard Alumna and Pulitzer Prize winner Jhumpa Lahiri '89 joins the Barnard faculty this fall as the Millicent C. McIntosh Professor of English and Director of Creative Writing.

Our Fall Open House will be in-person this year. If you have interested students, please have them join us on campus on Monday, October 10th. Registration will open soon. And as always, please direct students to our campus tours or live virtual campus tours.

If you have questions, please reach out to your regional rep. Visit our Contact Us page for all our emails and regions.

Greetings from Bentley University! Our “Admission 101: Guiding you through the College Admission Process” series continues with a blog post about helping your students understand all of their options when applying to college. After all, deciding where to apply to college is stressful enough, but what about when to apply? Many colleges offer various application deadlines — early decision, early action, regular decision and more — so it’s important to know the details of each before deciding which is best. Our seasoned admission team shares its advice on how your students can decide the appropriate application option for them. Check it out today! We hope this information, and our entire Admission 101 series, give you another tool for helping your students’ college searches stay on schedule. Also, your students and their families are invited to join us at our upcoming Fall Open House on Sunday, October 2. It’s an opportunity to tour campus, meet current students, faculty and staff – and hear more about academics, campus life, career services, financial aid and everything that makes Bentley so special. Thank you for all you do.

Donna M. Kendall Associate Vice President of Enrollment and Dean of Undergraduate Admission

Sandra, the November 1 early admission deadline for the University of Miami is just one month away. Here are a few reasons we encourage your students to consider applying early to UMiami and how to do so.

  1. Applying early is a great way to demonstrate interest in a college.

  2. Early admission plans have higher admission rates nationwide.

  3. Early applicants at UMiami are considered for Premier Scholarships.

  4. Early applicants will get their admission decision sooner.

  5. Early applicants can take their time planning their first semester on campus!

Again, thank you for helping to shape your students’ futures and for all the support you provide them during the college search process. I look forward to staying in touch! Sincerely,

Greetings from Lawrence Tech!

I want to take a minute to acknowledge the tremendous job that you do on behalf of your students. Your hard work and dedication makes a difference!

Lawrence Tech's Office of Admissions is looking forward to meeting a number of your students as they visit and apply in the coming months. Below you will find some updates for you as well as opportunities for your students to visit.

Test-Optional for Fall 2023

LTU has adopted a test-optional policy for Fall 2023 freshmen applicants. Standardized test scores are not required for admission. Additionally, standardized test scores are not required to receive scholarships, and students who are unable to submit test scores will not be disadvantaged in the merit scholarship process. For students who submit ACT or SAT scores, these will be considered supplemental information and used for determining placement assessments.

Apply for Free in October

In celebration of College Application Month, your students can complete their Lawrence Tech application for free if they apply using our application. The application can be found here and students will use the code october1932.

Specs@LTU

Lawrence Tech is continuing the Specs Howard School of Media Arts legacy by offering new certificate programs. Your students can choose from 3 different 12-month programs that lead to a broad spectrum of careers within the media industry. After completion of these certificate programs, students can choose to transfer their certificate credit into our Associate of Arts in Media Arts and Production and our Bachelor of Arts in Media Communication. Learn more here.
