"ONE DOWN, ONE TO GO"

So the SAT went by peacefully on Saturday. I only heard complaints that the Reading passages were taxing and caused one to go down to the wire with time. I do hope the current students are able to focus and practice so this does not become an issue in December. I already see that it is an issue in the current SAT group as 50% did not turn in the Reading Comprehension assignment. Guess what? Only the students who did will get a response on how they did and tips to improve. I think that if one does not turn in work, how does one get help? Crazy!

I do hope when we attach notices from schools every week, that students clue in and read those notices. We do not have time to post each and every email that comes in, to the Whatsapp group. You have to key in, with your notebook and pencil and note what is of interest to you and your plans. Like I said, this is a competitive year. Your best performance is expected. Time goes by quickly. If you are not practicing, well...you will get what you put in. Wake up!

LSAT GROUP

Nice progress, Kendese. In our 26 years of existence, we can say, looking good!

SSAT

Do not try to outsmart the teacher. I have gotten several 99% from students who put in the work. DDo as I say and the outcome will be nice and easy. Read!

FINANCIAL AID

This Friday at 6 pm, I will host the ISFAA form and help families fill out the forms. Those in Montego Bay can go to Mrs. Samtani after the session for further assistance. Those in Kingston can come to the office after session for further clarification. All are welcome to get the forms by dropping by and getting a copy.

Once we have completed that form, then we will direct you to use the information posted on the ISFAA to do your CSS Profile. Just follow the numbers used and plug in on the online CSS Form.

Those who are US citizens and Green Card Holders, you have to come in to effect the FAFSA form, that is a whole other "shebang" and I cannot do an online tutorial for that.

See you all next week.

Student office hours with Johns Hopkins admissions representative!

Good morning! I hope that you are all doing well. Unfortunately, I will not be traveling internationally this fall but I still wanted to offer your most interested students an opportunity to ask their individual questions about Hopkins, their Hopkins application, and the U.S. admissions process. For this reason, I have opened up four virtual office hour slots throughout October that your students are more than welcome to register for and join. These will be held in a Zoom meeting format and will allow students to actively engage in discussion and conversation. Please feel free to share this email and these dates/times below with any students looking to study in the U.S. and/or at Hopkins! October Office Hours: · Thursday, October 7 @ 12:00 – 1:00 PM EST · Thursday, October 14 @ 5:00 – 6:00 PM EST · Thursday, October 21 @ 3:00 – 4:00 PM EST · Thursday, October 14 @ 4:00 – 5:00 PM EST Note: These sessions are reserved for students only. If you would like to set up a separate counselor call, I am happy to discuss what that could look like. Thank you all again for the great work that you all do, and I hope to see you all again in person very soon!
