Sandra Bramwell

I am aging beyond years. Why? One of my past students Sonam has invited me to her Engagement Party, she is about to be married. Where did the years go? I just remember her, a shy, young lady at Immaculate.

Sonam graduated with stellar grades from Immaculate and she completed her undergraduate studies at University of Pennsylvania. I wish her all the best on this new leg of her personal journey. I believe the young man in question is quite a lucky fellow! Sonam is the full package!

CAPE/CXC

These exams are close. I have left a lot of you to work quietly through this period. These exams are important. Good results can shave off time from one's undergraduate studies.

As soon as these exams are completed, students going off in 2024, need to focus on applications and the SAT exam for August and October.

VISAS

Yes, it is that time. By May 1, students should have committed to their school of choice. And we have to secure the visa appointment date. Lots of paperwork....and time is running out....

See you next week!

Hello Sandra,

I am very pleased to announce that New York Institute of Technology will be offering the International Leadership Scholarship again this year! This prestigious scholarship is offered to one bright and talented individual to cover the full cost of tuition (without room and board) for each of his/her four year of full-time, undergraduate study at New York Tech. Are there any qualified students you would recommend? If so, encourage them to apply for this wonderful opportunity. The International Leadership Scholarship was established to recognize, support, and encourage talented international students, and give them an opportunity to pursue an American education at New York Tech.

To qualify, students must:

  • Complete a New York Tech application and be admitted for the fall 2023 semester.

  • Complete the International Leadership Scholarship Application (login required).

  • Have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

  • Submit a one-page essay describing your leadership qualities, future goals, and how this scholarship will help you achieve your goals. There is a place in the form below for you to attach your essay.

  • Provide a CV or resume, documenting at least 25-50 hours of community service or volunteer experience.

  • Provide two letters of recommendation:

    • One letter of recommendation from a supervisor from your volunteer or community service experience verifying your experience

    • One letter of nomination/recommendation from a teacher, counselor, or principal nominating you for the International Leadership Scholarship

The deadline to apply for this scholarship is April 30, 2023. The recipient of the Leadership Scholarship will be notified by May 8, 2023. We look forward to receiving all applications. Sincerely, Benjamin Dobbs Associate Director of International Admissions
