I am often that teacher at times who so often feels defeated by students who are indifferent, lazy, and unable to organize themselves for future opportunities.
I am here to report that something has got to be in the water these kids are drinking! I have a group of students who are self-motivated. I do not have to repeat instructions twice. They get it.
In addition, they are organized, with diaries, making appointments, getting internships done, spectacular.
Need I mention the progress being made every week academically? They use their SAT, GRE, LSAT books and do the additional work. There are students getting 41/44 on Writing and Language papers. And we are not even in the month of September. Groovy.
So I salute this cohort of students. Keep on doing what you are doing. I won't shout too loudly from the hilltop but I am most impressed.
Greetings! Students can now apply for admission to Colgate using the Common App, Coalition on Scoir, or QuestBridge application. Colgate’s test-optional pilot program makes submission of SAT and ACT scores optional for all applicants through 2026.

We want the world's best and brightest students at Bowdoin, so we're taking bold steps for access.
You may have heard the big news from earlier this summer: Bowdoin is now need blind for international citizens. And, as part of our work to reduce application barriers, we are also glad to share additional news: we no longer require applicants to provide English proficiency test scores. We're proud to welcome brilliant students to Bowdoin from around the world, regardless of their background. If a student wishes to submit English language proficiency test scores (such as the TOEFL, iELTS, or Duolingo English Test), we're happy to review them. However, while strong knowledge of English is essential to be a successful student at Bowdoin, we don’t need a test to tell us how they express their thoughts and their curiosity. To learn more about Bowdoin, financial aid, holistic application review, and topics of interest to international students, sign up for a virtual information session on August 13 at 8:30 a.m. eastern time.
And remember: our application is now open. We'll waive the application fee automatically for anyone who is applying for financial aid or is the first in their family to attend college. No need to reach out and ask: students simply apply without the fee. Learn more about applying as an international student and email us at international@bowdoin.edu if you have questions.
