Here is to Caleb Levy!
I truly believe that children are our future. Here comes this brilliant young man into my office. He held first prize in the Caribbean for Physics.
Truly an autodidact, he was engrossed in Physics from an early age. He rose through Campion with stellar grades.
I had never met a more humble fellow. Yet, with a formidably curious mind. We were lucky and saw him secure a full ride to Colgate University.
I should add that we are talking about Jamaican royalty. He is the great grandson of the late Rt. Honourable Norman Manley. And if history did not hold sepia-colored glasses, luck has it that his room-mate at Colgate is no other than the great grandson of Marcus Mosiah Garvey. All serendipity!
But the culmination of this tale is the "piece de resistance"- because he maintained top grades, he is now the recipient of a full ride to his doctorate at Harvard. Right where he belongs.....all along.
So proud, Caleb! I will always be rooting for you! Make Jamaica proud.

Are your students interested in learning more about college pathways at NYU? We're excited to announce that applications for the Fall 2023 Pathways Programs will be accepted until May 1! The NYU School of Professional Studies Fall Pathways Programs—Career Pathways Bridge Program and Early Excellence Program—open doors to career-connected learning opportunities for more New York City students, particularly young people who are PELL and TAP eligible and from traditionally underserved communities across the city. Students in the programs will build a strong foundation that will set them apart in their transition to college, all while earning college credits and entry into NYU DAUS Associate Degree Programs.
Program Deadlines and Dates
April 1 - Priority deadline for both pathway programs May 1 - Final deadline Any applications received before April 1 will be notified by April 15, 2023
Why SPS Pathway Programs
The NYU School of Professional Studies Career Pathways Bridge Program helps students explore academics through early college credit courses, paid internships, peer mentoring, and personalized advising. Career Pathways Bridge Fellows earn two-year scholarships for their Fall Bridge semester to help them reach their potential and pay for college and conditional admittance into the School's Division of Applied Undergraduate Studies (DAUS) associates degree program, the following Spring. Check out the Career Pathways Bridge Program website to learn more. The Early Excellence Fall Program is an opportunity for students to earn a scholarship for up to eight NYU SPS college credits in the Fall semester, before matriculating into the School's DAUS associates degree program. With a lighter yet challenging course load, students adjust to a college lifestyle at NYU, make new friends, and get a head start on college credits for their degree program. As we close out another successful recruiting season, we are excited to start connecting with the future WashU class and look forward to meeting your students!
Here at WashU, we strive to know what makes our students who they are. That is why we would love for you to share our Getting to Know You Form with your students. This form provides a quick and easy way for students to introduce themselves, and also lets us know they are interested in receiving more information about WashU.
Once students submit the form, they will be invited to WashU events in their area, get updates about our academic programs, and learn more about financial assistance and scholarships. We will also share information about upcoming summer and fall visit opportunities including WashU Preview — a selective experience for students historically underrepresented in higher education.
Students interested in being considered for WashU Preview should fill out the Getting to Know You Form by June 2, 2023 — even if they are already on our mailing list.
