Mock exam take place this Thursday for those headed to Saturday’s exam.
For this Thursday, do not forget a picture ID, your #2 pencils, good eraser and a calculator.
For Saturday, get to your centers by 7:45. Sit close to registration table, have picture ID’s, tickets for exam, calculator, pencils and erasers ready.
Exercise, eat right ( swear off greasy foods and those that make you sleepy)…you will need every ounce of energy and focus to get through the exam.

Hi Sandra , As the first college in the country to adopt a policy to admit students regardless of race, Oberlin College has a deep commitment to access and inclusion. That’s why we offer the Multicultural Visit Program. This all-expenses-paid trip to campus allows students to experience the vibrancy and diversity of a top liberal arts college that challenges convention, embraces difference, and encourages originality. High school seniors selected for the program will be hosted overnight by a current Oberlin student and will attend classes, visit with professors, and get a firsthand view of campus life.
We encourage applications from students from diverse backgrounds such as American Indian or Alaska Native, Asian, Black or African-American, Hispanic/Latino(a), Native Hawaiian, or Pacific Islander. We will also consider low-income and/or first-generation college students, regardless of cultural or racial background. MVP will be offered twice this fall: October 27-29 and November 10-12. The priority application deadline for both programs is September 25th. Students applying via Early Decision, to the Posse Scholars Program, or as a QuestBridge Match Scholar to another institution are NOT eligible to attend MVP and should visit our campus visit website for other ways to connect with Oberlin.

Greetings from Swarthmore, we hope this email finds you well as you prepare for another application cycle. This year, Swarthmore College will be changing our financial aid application process for international students with the hope of lessening stress for applicants. Only admitted international students — who indicate an intent to apply for financial aid on their admission application — will need to complete a financial aid application. At Swarthmore, international students are international citizens that are not dual citizens or U.S. permanent residents. We remain need-aware for international students. A Timeline of the Financial Aid Application Process for International Students:
A student will indicate their intent to apply for financial aid on their application for admission if they think they will need financial aid at any point in their four years at Swarthmore College.
Complete the admission application via Common Application.
Once admitted, a student should complete their financial aid application and submit all required documents within seven (7) days of receiving their notice of admission.
The financial aid application for international students consists of the ISFAA, CSS Profile, and documentation of family income and assets.
All admitted international students, who previously indicated their intent to apply for financial aid, will receive a CSS Profile fee waiver. The CSS Profile fee waiver will be available in the applicant portal in the financial aid checklist after they are admitted.
Admission decisions are typically released in mid-December for Early Decision I, mid-February for Early Decision II, and mid-March for Regular Decision.
As a reminder, Swarthmore meets 100% of determined financial need with loan-free financial aid awards for all admitted students, including international students. This is inclusive of tuition, fees, residence hall, meal plan, books and academic supplies, and personal expenses. We’d love to see you in-person in Charlottesville again this year! Open House Dates We are committed to assisting historically underrepresented and underserved students visit and apply to UVA. As part of this effort, we are hosting three open house events this year for prospective students and families:
Saturday, September 24: Hoos First is an annual open house for prospective students who will be the first in their family to attend college.
Friday, October 14: Fall Blast is an annual open house for prospective students designed to highlight Hispanic and Latinx student experiences at UVA.
Saturday, October 15: Fall Fling is an annual open house for prospective students designed to highlight Black and African American student experiences at UVA.
Travel Grant Form We know that some families may need financial assistance to visit UVA during our fall open house events. Please share our travel grant application with any families who may need financial assistance to travel to UVA. Travel grant applications will be reviewed on a first-come, first-served basis and will be awarded to help cover travel expenses to a fall open house for eligible students as long as funding is available. Test Optional We extended our test optional admission plan through 2023. So, students applying to UVA for fall 2023 enrollment are not required to submit SAT or ACT scores in order to be considered for admission. We plan to make a decision about our testing requirements for 2024 and beyond by January 2023. Class of 2026 The new group of first year students will be our largest and most diverse in University history. Many new students attended an orientation session in July. Walentas Scholars The Walentas Scholars Program develops leaders, citizens, and scholars who are pioneers—the first or among the first in their families to earn a bachelor’s degree from a college or university. This full ride, four-year scholarship enrolled its first class this fall and will be increasing in size in 2023. Application Deadlines We have permanently moved our Regular Decision application deadline to January 5 in order to avoid the deadline falling on a holiday or weekend. Writing Prompts We have decreased the word limit for our short answer essays with the hope that it results in less stress for applicants. We have also increased the number of essay prompts for greater flexibility, freedom, and, hopefully, fun. You can find our new essay prompts on Dean J’s blog.

As summer comes to a close, I’m writing to share some important information from Williams.
Reminder About Our Historic All-Grant Financial Aid Program
In April, Williams announced the nation’s first “all-grant” financial aid program. Beginning this fall, all students receiving financial aid will receive 100 percent of that aid in the form of grants that do not need to be repaid. Loans have been eliminated from all financial aid awards and students are no longer required to work on campus or during the summer.
The all-grant program builds on our longstanding commitment to ensuring all students have what they need to really thrive. Financial aid covers FREE textbooks and course materials, FREE health insurance, FREE summer storage, funding for career internships and fellowships, and emergency funding for when things don’t go as planned. Test-Optional Pilot Extended Through At Least 2025 All current high school sophomores, juniors and seniors can apply to Williams under a truly test-optional policy, and all applicants will be evaluated through a student-centered, holistic evaluation process.
Opportunities to Explore Williams Traditional opportunities to learn more about Williams are back: Campus tours and information sessions, as well as public presentations in select areas. But as we take action on Williams’ bold aspirations around sustainability, we’ve decided to significantly reduce admission travel and expand chances to connect with Williams from afar. The full range of opportunities can be found on the “Connect & Visit” tab on our website.
Please note that Williams doesn’t use demonstrated interest—attendance at school visits, college fairs, campus visits, requests for information, etc.—in any way in our admission process. You can assure your students that an inability to participate in our programs will have NO impact on their admission or financial aid decision. We’re excited to connect if it’s helpful; we understand if their college journey takes a different form.
Regular Decision Application Deadline To ensure the winter break is as restorative as possible for students, families, and counseling colleagues alike, the Regular Decision deadline is January 9, 2023.
Accessing Your Students’ Application Status via Slate.org Slate.org is a free, secure platform that allows admission and counseling colleagues to share information about and in support of students’ journeys to college. It can be used to check the status of your students’ applications to Williams, review admission decisions after they’ve been released, upload letters of recommendation and transcripts, and more.
