"THE LULL" Wednesday Blog

So I am learning to de-stress. Hard task. The ladies, Daneel Nichol and Monique Allan, have rightfully taken over the helm in the office and doing so nicely. I can actually sleep in later (as if I always didn't) and do the night shift with parents, (right Jhada, 10 p.m. last night, grappling with student loan forms// smile)....

But tis the season of exams now. April is gone, we are in Child's Month, Mother's Day and Labour Day. The irony is that each core day is struck with uncanny unfairness in this world: children, women equals hard labour....Life...a box of chocolates.

Yes, acceptances continue, do they ever stop? The planning for the Farewell Ceremony is full steam ahead. So much to share on that day....

I know we are in the final season of goodbyes but dear students, you have to secure your I20 forms, it is visa time. Those going to Canada, please get those police reports done, and see the office off Waterloo Road. They will fill out the forms for you. All those heading to America, please see us at the office to get your visa scheduling done.

INSURANCE FORMS

Those who need to pay far less on the insurance offered by their schools, please see us to discuss rates and what each policy offers.

TRAVEL PLANS

So you are all coming at me fast and furiously to book these low fares for the students. Please give me enough wiggle room to anchor those low fares and do note these are non-refundable!!!! Cheap but no returns...

SSAT PRELIM MEETINGS

So happy with my Kingston and Mobay SSAT meetings. They went off with a bang and oh, our parents and students are informed....

SUMMER PLANNING

Do something outside the box, fair warning. That tends to impress...

Dear Ms. Sandra Bramwell,

The National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCBJ) is a pioneer in the financial services industry in Jamaica and is the largest financial group in the country. The Group offers a full range of financial products and services including retail, corporate, treasury and correspondent banking, wealth management, health and general insurance.

In 2016 we successfully hosted our inaugural “Innovation Internship Programme”. Fifteen university students were selected from a pool of over 1000 applicants. The interns participated in a series of ideation sessions and group activities and generated and over 500 ideas which were evaluated for business value and viability. The Top ideas were selected and are currently being developed for implementation.

We are proud to again invite tertiary university students to participate in the 2018“Innovation Internship Programme”. It is an excellent opportunity for action-oriented, motivated, bright young minds to share ideas for new, transformational products and services, while gaining vital business skills.

We ask that you share this opportunity with your students and disseminate the attached flier via your internal communication media. Students may visit our website www.jncb.com/innovationinternship for more details.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us via email at ncbinnovation@jncb.com.

Sincerely,

Kerry-Anne Crossbourne Gordon
