So we survived Hurricane Matthew. The guns barked again in Montego Bay, as if to say, Mother Nature you have nothing on our evil ways. Many say that prayers deviated the storm, but could it have been our Jamaican feistiness, daring and sheer evil towards our compatriots? Remember the insolence of the Port Royal clique, "We go nowhere"....well, the poor Haitians, (sorry Haiti, vanguard of Black man's independence), not having fully recovered from the 2010 earthquake, to have been overtaken by Matthew, was not a picture for our eyes. My true prayer goes out to the Haitians.

SAT EXAM LAST SATURDAY

Well, I stuck around at Priory and saw everyone in at the exam. I also realized that two centers had postponed till October 15th. I do believe my Versan chickadees laughed their way into the exam, despite the threat of Hurricane Matthew, they went in, in good spirits. I was told just one Math section was difficult, we will see. Ahem!

The deadline to register is this Friday, don't be late. That is October 7, 2016.

HURRICANE HOLIDAY

I do hope my students studied through the non-existent storm...wishin' and hopin'...

And those who were to sit at St. Andrew and Campion, will be ready for October 15.

GRE FIASCO

So we smack of a lack of professionalism, we know this here in Jamaica.....my students register to do the GRE exam at UWI. The invigilator speaks on his phone ..loudly during the exam. He has full-blown conversations with groundsmen during my student's exam....groundsmen walking in to cover computers for an impending hurricane, and then having the gall to curse out my student for pointing out these peccadilloes.....noooo! GRE, you must correct this...they cannot study for 12 weeks to be subjected to this anancyism....we are trying to move the country forward...not ten steps backwards.....

C'mon!!!!

THE NEW AFRICAN AMERICAN MUSEUM

His name is David Adjaye. Of Ghanaian extract, he lives between New York and London. President Obama has not been sleeping. History will serve him well. We now have in Washington, D.C. a memorial to Martin Luther King and now, akin to the Jewish Museum, we now have The African American Museum, what a feat! This has to be a must stop for our students.

THE CARIBBEAN BOARDING SCHOOL FAIR

We now have everything in gear: our schools in Barbados, St. Lucia, Trinidad are all being put on notice for the advent of the Versan Caribbean Boarding School Fair 2016. So happy to see that Dominica's numbers are increasing for the SSAT group. Splendiferous!

MAKEUP CLASSES FOR THE HURRICANE HOLIDAY

The GRE/GMAT classes will meet for 2 hours of Verbal today, October 5.

The students for SAT and SSAT will have classes this weekend that extends beyond 2 hours. We will append an additional 30 minutes to each class for the remaining week-ends of October to make up for the hurricane holiday.

Students who have completed the 3 months of classes (July -September) and taken the test in October, can re-enroll for the December exam. Just be advised if you are fully paid up, you just need to hop into the 4-6 on Sunday, but front desk has to be advised before that move is sanctified and made holy.

Those who still have outstanding balances, the wrath of Hurricane Sandra will be unleashed. (I'm not kidding!)
