Last week Wednesday was a public holiday in Jamaica. The blog had a day's break. Our staff labored at Cornwall Regional Hospital painting the new nurses' quarters.
We are in full preparations for the Farewell. The bus is hired to bring in the Mobay troops. The entertainment is set. Agendas printed. You all know that we moved the date forward from June 10 to June 9. Why? We knew that the final exams for CAPE and CXC are on June 11. So we say our farewells Saturday night and give you June 10 to do final preparations.
My German classes have been put on break until after the event. Thanks!
The blog will take a break till the first week of July.
Summer classes will begin July 1. Registration has begun.
A friend once told me that humble beings always lived longer and ate the most pie. Social media has destroyed many with cyberbullying, nasty retorts and a dehumanization of sorts. Trolls can make or break reputations. To those caught in the pride snare, I say be careful. I recently met a young woman who placed fear in many people's hearts because she advertised that she had made it into Yale. She left her peers cowering that they had failed and she held the upper hand. Social media just revealed that she spent a year at University of Miami before being transferred to Yale. Such chutzpah! Unethical....It is ok to be at Yale, it is also ok to say this is where I am. You make the school, not the school you. I have many students from the Ivy League graduation ceremonies still searchi...
Hi everyone!. It's Wednesday. I do believe that I heralded Mothers last week and today is the infamous Teacher's Day. Unfortunately, my great teachers have largely passed on...Mrs. Magnus, Mrs. Vaz, Mrs. Bromley-Ndala, Mrs. Pinnock, Mme Ghislaine - all great women who shaped this frail being. Kudos to them all and Bravo!

So I am learning to de-stress. Hard task. The ladies, Daneel Nichol and Monique Allan, have rightfully taken over the helm in the office and doing so nicely. I can actually sleep in later (as if I always didn't) and do the night shift with parents, (right Jhada, 10 p.m. last night, grappling with student loan forms// smile)....
But tis the season of exams now. April is gone, we are in Child's Month, Mother's Day and Labour Day. The irony is that each core day is struck with uncanny unfairness in this world: children, women equals hard labour....Life...a box of chocolates.
Yes, acceptances continue, do they ever stop? The planning for the Farewell Ceremony is full steam ahead. So much to share on that day....
