"And Now They Fly OUT"
Justin left this past weekend, having received his student visa....at the airport. Many students are flying in early to satisfy the quarantine conditions. For incoming freshmen, it appears to be fine. They will purchase the room items, use during quarantine and then move into their pre-ordained dorms right after. But what of those who were told to vacate their dorms and given 24 hour notice a few months ago? How they returned to Jamaica without anything from their dorms..

"Whew....and the visas came...."
So Monday was the test trial. Our first batch of students faced the guillotine- the US embassy. We knew though the 45th had pulled back on the notion of international student deportation, that as unpredictable as these times were, we could expect any and every thing during the visa interviews. Well, the good news...most got their visas, thus far...with just one being asked to return with supplemental materials. Not bad. It seems the most pressing issue is the class schedu

"The International Student Battle"
So within one week, we are in a tizzy! We heard deportation, no F-1 visas, no physical classes, merely online classes...and it seemed that the 45th had not thought through this debacle. I said it would be helter skelter. It seems my vision was right. Now, when students are getting student visa appointments to go in for visas, the bangarang has begun. Here is what we know as factual: 1)Students who remained in the States on campus or at home, should their current uni

"That Expedited Visa Appointment"
Everyone is being denied their request for an expedited appointment. It is understandable. Covid infections are rising in the US for Texas, Florida, California and Arizona. America is largely suggesting for the Fall term that you go for your visas, but stay home for the Fall semester. Not a bad idea. Some of you have decided to take off the year. The watch and wait approach. Others want to dive right in and are anxious to go, despite the threats of a Covid and racial pand
