OBAMA TO ABRAHAM LINCOLN WEDNESDAY BLOG

Dear Readers:

I am so overwhelmed with je ne sais quoi!  I am so elated.  I am at a loss for words.  We are on a path for growth now, with a President aware of what lies ahead, the middle class, poor, disenfranchised, back on the front burner, the ghost of President Abraham Lincoln called on...did you not all see the Civil War raise its ugly head...but in the acceptance speech...this is the United States of America.

Onward students, onward we go to the United States of America, though divided along lines, America  has had to turn a new page.Minorities are now the largest segment of the society...71% of the Hispanic vote, women, gays and lesbians, Native Americans and all the chocolate, yellow, mocha, browns...now central and pivotal to American politics.  What exciting times we live in...Amen!

ST MARY'S UNIVERSITY

So this Friday we will see some 33 Canadian Universities, by invitation only.  Contact me for the email address to get in...But St. Mary's visited our office and spoke to a few excited students who were happy to hear that their IB's and CAPE results of 1's and 2's or 6 and 7's would be given almost a year off.  It is a fantastic school with 99%  of faculty possessing PhD's.  We loved the Co-op experience.  Interesting majors...and a few applications and brochures left at the office for those interested.  I noticed that a few of you picked up quite a few applications for your friends.

US/CANADA BOARDING SCHOOL FAIR

It is that time of year again.  Over 15 schools will grace our shores from Canada and the US.  Faithfully, they return every year.On November 16 at UWI Mona Visitor's Lodge, we will commence at 10 a.m. and end at 4 p.m.  On Sunday, we will be at the Hilton Rose Hall where our Mobay crew will do their interviews.

I know the students are prepared and ready to go.  SSAT exam is this Saturday and Ms. Ricketts will be at AISK to see all our students go in safely and without problems.  She will wear her Versan polo, so any queries, head straight to her and I will be advised.

WOMEN'S EMPOWERMENT

I just met with the European Union Head Paola Amadei and Hon. Portia Simpson Miller who are trying to forge hands across the political divide to empower our women and girls in Jamaica.  I invite all to a worthy cause on Sunday at The National Gallery to auction the pieces that won Best Reggae poster.  Such craftsmanship from around the world.  Amazing...2 p.m. at the Gallery!  This Sunday...

NOVEMBER

This is the month to clear up recommendations, essays, applications, transcripts and begin the purchase of envelopes, financial aid, CSS Profiles, and for my SSAT groups to complete their financial aid forms online (PFS) and all registrations for January''s exam now effected.

Guys, adieux, I stayed up so late, I forgot to sleep watching the US elections.  Congrats President Barack Hussein Obama and your team....Thanks for this victory!
