POST SAT WEEKEND WEDNESDAY BLOG

What an exciting day October 1st, 2011!  From students with expired ID's who were not allowed into test centers to lost and drifting students who could not find the location and stumbled in late...to buses that passed Priory and went up to Papine because students were busy studying on the bus to see where they were going...an eventful day!  Thankfully, for the many Montegonians who had to stay overnight in a hotel (and all that drama of overcharging food on someone's credit?; not being released but almost left to wash dishes...what drama!

Fortunately, everyone settled in and did their exams.  Others were shuttled from st. Andrew's to Priory as Halloween brought in the wicked old witch who refused them entry, hence the benign Angel of Mercy at Priory let them in.

We thank all the teachers who were present to avert disaster: Ms. Coleman (AISK), Ms. Reynolds (Campion), Ms. Bramwell (Priory) and Ms. Campbell (St. ANdrew's).  All were on time and performed admirably.

We pray for those who made silly errors and caused the loss of unnecessary points, but I say, there is November, December and January.

PARENT TEACHERS" MEETING

This Saturday at 5 p.m.,  October 8, we will hold our Parents' Meeting at Shortwod Teacher's Auditorium for all groups.
SCHOOL VISITS THIS WEEK

I visited 4 boarding schools this week in New York.  Two unisex schools and two coeds respectively: Trinity-Pawling and Emma Willard, then Millbrook and The Master's School.  I must say that the unisex schools  won me over, they were orderly, beautiful campuses, with structured school curricula..In fact, the building for the All-Girls reminded me of Hogwarts in Harry Potter's movie.

Emma Willard was fascinating!  The science labs (I am gushing) were supercalifragilisticespialidocious!!!!  No wonder they win Math Olympiads and Westinghouse Science awards.  They are also able to take classes at Rensselaer Polytechnic down the street...Go Emma Willard girls!  Did I mention their girls serenaded us in song and there were quite a few Norah Jones, Carrie Underwoods and others who simply out did themselves in concert.  Very impressive structure and program.

Trinity-Pawling is also exceptional as a boys' school.  With their navy blue blazers, ties and cufflinks, I met the most memorable boyes ever.  Kudos to a great school for fostering emotional development as well as academic success..
As for Master's and Millbrook (the latter had a cozy feeling and boasted of a zoo, minis were too high, but amazing faculty....Master's gets the brightest and best. and delivers in no uncertain terms some of the best grades seen in New York state.  I do advise that they up grade their facilities and downgrade the miniskirts....

FAREWELL
We say adieu to a great Manager and teacher, Ms. Azan.  We went through her dating and marriage scenarios.  As she grew and matured with us, she learnt a lot and became a stalwart  in the office and classroom.  We wish her happy studies on her doctoral trek.  So long and farewell!  We will miss you.
